Oui j'avais essayé :

  # apt-get install -f

pas mieux.
Je comprends que le package utilise une syntaxe dpkg qui n'est pas 
comprise par la version dpkg présente.
Il faudra pouvoir purger la situation afin de pouvoir upgrader dpkg ..
